Swine flu

The national centre for the prevention of communicable and endemic diseases has issued a statement stating the discovery of two new cases infected with swine flu. Dr. Abdulsalam Abu-Dhair the Secretary for the centre stressed that the third case was discovered in the Great Jamahiriya was of a Libyan lady aged 65 years old, was returning on the 12th July 2009 from Saudi Arabia after her performing pilgrimage. The discovery came through the heat sensors, which placed at the Benina airport Benghazi, when she was taking to the centre for extra test, it was confirmed that she is suffering from the A/H1N1 disease. The fourth case was a Libyan citizen age 11-year-old, who was travelling home on the 13th July 2009 from UK to Libya. His temperature has risen in the next day off arriving to Libya, and after tests it was discovered that he was a carrier of A/H1N1. Both cases have been admitted to hospitals and necessary treatment has been given. (Oea Newspaper)

First Swine Flu case in Great Jamahiriya makes full recovery Benghazi

Sources of the GPC for Health Environment said on Monday that the first swine flu case that was discovered in Great Jamahiriya has made a full recovery. General Director of Benghazi Jamahiriya Hospital Dr. Abdel Fetah Zayyid told JANA reporter that the first swine flu case in Great Jamahiriya has made a full recovery without any medical complications and he could head to work as of today. Committee sources said the recovery asserts the effectiveness of medical measure in place and the keenness to take the necessary preventive controls in combating this epidemic. On July 5, the Secretary of GPC for Health & Environment announced the first case of Swine Flu in Great Jamahiriya. He said the case was a Thai national was continuously improving after getting the necessary treatment in the hospital. He asserted that the GPC for Health & Environment and the medical panels will continue to take precautionary measures at airports, seaports and land crossings, especially following the announcement of the World Health Organization that it has the warning level to six. Libya Declare its Second Case of Swine Flu

In a statement issued by the National Centre for the prevention of communicable and endemic diseases and their control on the second day the discovery of the 2nd case of swine flu, “H1N1". According to Dr. Abdu-Alhafid Abdul-Salam Dehher the Secretary of People's Committee of the National Centre for the prevention of communicable diseases and endemic diseases, and a member of the Higher Committee for combat swine flu. This is the second case which was discovered, a second worker from Thailand infected with the swine flu, age of 25 years, working for one of the oil companies operating within the Great Jamahiriya, who had a close contacts with the first infected person.
