The Alarm Centre at the Clinic follows reliable evacuation plans using the services of well-reputed professionals in this field. This is of paramount importance for expatriates working in volatile areas and visitors to the country who have to have peace of mind that should an incident occur there is someone, on-site who can immediately organise an evacuation operation.
The Emergency Alarm Centre Clinic is located in Ghirgharesh,
Tripoli, close to the main expatriate compounds. The Doctor is
accommodated in living quarters at the Clinic, thus enabling him
to provide a 24 hour, 7 day a week service.

who is eligible for our service?
The service is of particular attraction to travellers to Tripoli, be it for leisure or business and expatriates living there, who, at their home countries, are used to having emergency care and a family doctor service. Most are acquainted with the better private hospitals in Tripoli and have a good understanding of places where they should seek hospitalisation. However, for smaller medical problems that arise more commonly, they are at a loss as to where they should seek such help. The Clinic in these cases plays a role of paramount importance.
Visitors to Libya who would wish to have the service of a visiting doctor and a stand-by ambulance service in a country that lacks these services, would also benefit greatly from our facilities.
Services are provided to registered members.
Upon enrolment, members will be issued with a membership card, which will have indicated on it all emergency telephone numbers, the member's blood group together with any known allergies.

The Ambulance service is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. The ambulance is equipped with all emergency equipment needed to stabilize a patient including:* Scoop Stretcher

The Pharmacy is stocked with all general items. In addition to this, other drugs that members are on long-term use of, will be stocked.

medical records
Upon enrolment of a member who is permanently based in Libya a familiarisation meeting is organised between the doctor and the member. The aim of the meeting is to get acquainted and to open the members Medical Records file. Members are encouraged to transfer their past medical records to the Doctor for the sake of continuity. Each time a patient is treated the doctor will update the patient's medical records by detailing all symptoms, diagnosis, treatment given and medication.
In the case of visitors to Libya, all medical records following treatment in Libya will be passed on to the patient for forwarding to his doctor in his home country.

ancillary services
referral to hospitals or consultants in tripoli
In cases where the treatment needed by a patient falls outside the scope of the Clinic, the resident doctor arranges referral to a local hospital in Tripoli.
In the case of an emergency, our doctor handles all admission procedures and he follows-up all referrals to other physicians/hospitals. He will be present at the patient's side during the admissions procedure. During the patient's stay as an in-patient, the Doctor will pay daily visits to the patient and will have both formal and informal discussions with the patient's treating Physician on the course of treatment.
pathology referral service
Medilink International operates a Pathology Referral Service in Libya whereby any tests that are not available in the country are referred to Germany for analysis. Samples are referred to Bioscientia GmbH which is an international referral laboratory accredited with the American College of Pathologists. The service is fast, efficient and reliable. Results are reported back on the Internet. This service is available to members of the Clinic.
referral to overseas hospitals or consultants
Medilink International has vast expertise in the field of referral of patients to overseas hospitals. At the patient's discretion, the doctor may contact Medilink's Head Office regarding an overseas referral. Medilink International enjoys an excellent relationship with a number of leading hospitals and medical centres in Europe to which patients may be referred at short notice. All aspects of the patient's referral are taken care of including air transfers, ambulance transfer to the hospital in case of emergency, hospital appointments and follow-up. All the patient's medical notes will be transferred to the hospital to ensure continuity in treatment.
air evacuation
Medilink International is able to offer emergency air evacuation services from Libya. In case such need arises, at the discretion of the patient or family, the doctor will contact the Co-ordination Centre and make immediate arrangements for air evacuation. The Co-ordination Centre is manned 24 hours a day by doctors and nurses who are experts in this field. By contacting them, the doctor will have access to expert medical advice to support him in his treatment of the patient. The doctor will hand-over the patient and all patient notes to the Medic on the aircraft. Patients can be flown to and admitted to any hospital according to the particular requirements of their condition.
assisted evacuation on scheduled flights
In situations where a patient needs to be evacuated, but not as an emergency, Medilink International can provide an assisted evacuation service on scheduled flights. Patients can travel as stretcher cases or seated cases. Medilink International will make all the arrangements with the airline, arrange the transfer to the airport and provide the services of a physician to accompany the patient on the flight.
membership schemes - your cost effective solution
Various membership schemes are available for the services. These
range from schemes for full time members who are permanently based
in Tripoli, schemes for persons who work in Tripoli on a rota
basis and schemes for persons who are occasional visitors to Tripoli.
Members may, in most cases, claim the costs for the services provided
by the Clinic from their International Medical Insurance. For
